EPG setup

EPG means electronic program guide. In IPTV apps, EPG data usually comes from XMLTV data attached to your playlist or source.

Your source may provide guide data in one of these ways:

  • embedded in the M3U playlist;
  • as a separate XMLTV URL;
  • through the Xtream API.
  • through a Stalker portal.

Tifo can show EPG when usable guide data is available.

  • Make sure the playlist or Xtream source actually includes guide data.
  • Confirm the guide URL opens from your network.
  • Wait for the source refresh to finish.
  • Check whether only some channels have guide data.
  • Compare channel names and IDs if your EPG is separate from your playlist.

A player can display EPG data, but it cannot invent missing guide data. If your source has no schedule, wrong channel IDs, or stale XMLTV output, Tifo may show blank or partial guide rows.
